- From 26 July 2021 to 30 June 2023, 36,325 part 1 applications were received for
Child Disability Payment. - In total, 25,635 applications were processed with a decision made by 30 June 2023. Of these, 83% were authorised, whilst 13% were denied and 4% were withdrawn in this time period.
- The median average processing time has decreased from 105 working days in March 2023, to 102 working days in June 2023. The proportion of applications processed in 141 or more working days increased from 11% in March 2023, to 16% in June 2023.
- Between 26 July 2021 and 30 June 2023, the total value of Child Disability Payments issued was £298.0 million. Of this total, £97.6 million was issued to new applicants and £200.3 million was issued to clients who have transferred to Child Disability Payment.
- As of 30 June 2023, it is estimated that 67,000 children and young people were in receipt of Child Disability Payment. Of this total, 21,055 were new applicants and 45,940 were people who had their award transferred to Child Disability Payment.
