Carers UK is looking for carers in the UK who have recently (i.e in the last 1-2 months) been notified about an overpayment of Carers Allowance.
Carers UK is working with the Good Law Project who are hoping to take a “test case” on overpayments through the courts, with 1-3 claimants.
Good Law Project (represented by its solicitors at Good Law Practice) are hoping to establish that the DWP’s approach to reclaiming overpaid carer’s allowance is unlawful. Good Law Project will cover all legal costs.
