We are expanding the pilot launch of Carers Support Payment to Angus, North Lanarkshire and South Lanarkshire on 24 June, and will extend this further from 19 August to the following Local Authorities
Fife, Moray, Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, East Ayrshire, South Ayrshire and North Ayrshire.
Carer Support Payment launched in the initial pilot areas of Dundee City, Perth and Kinross and the Western Isles on 20 November 2023.
Social Security Scotland will be hosting a short series of events to make sure you and the people you support have all the relevant information you need about Carer Support Payment before it opens for new applications in your area. This will include how it will be different from Carer’s Allowance and how the service will be delivered in Scotland by Social Security Scotland.

Please note that these events are for stakeholders supporting clients in these areas only and national organisations. Further events will be held from Summer 2024 to support stakeholders in other locations as Carer Support Payment is rolled out nationally.
